Rowntree's
It all began in 1862 when Henry Rowntree purchased a small cocoa works in York and transformed it into a confectionary company. His brother Joseph joined him in 1869 and together they hired French confectioner August Claude Gaget. This is when they developed those famous fruit pastilles which have become a cornerstone of this great confectionary brand.
